McAfee has a lot of pop-ups compared to Avast and TotalAV, but it isn’t what you’d expect. This is pretty disappointing, considering there are lots of other free leak-checking sites that give far more detailed reports. To find out which site is responsible for the breach, you have to pay to upgrade to the premium version. The password leak monitor is thorough, but it only tells you if your password has been leaked. It's not perfect because it only checks whether the encryption is up-to-date and whether the network uses a password (which a hacker could nevertheless set up) still, you might consider this better than nothing, at least compared to other security apps. Unlike Avast and TotalAV, it includes a Wi-Fi network scanner for free. As with TotalAV, it checks for security threats, like out-of-date iOS. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s safe and reliable. McAfee is your stick-to-the-basics security suite for iPhones. It just shows a paywall asking you to upgrade. Don’t worry, though if you tap on a premium feature, it won’t charge you. ![]() Unlike Avast and McAfee, it doesn’t clearly label which features it includes in the app for free. So, TotalAV’s built-in scanner will quickly check that the QR code is safe before it takes you there. The idea here is that scanning a QR code on the street can be a security risk. There’s also a free secure QR code scanner. This isn’t something you get with most iPhone apps. ![]() TotalAV checks for duplicate photos and videos and lets you delete them from within the app to free up storage on your phone without manually digging through all your files. In terms of bonuses, its device optimization feature is really impressive for a free app.
